Gratuity Calculator

This calculator does not cover UAE-national pensions, domestic or government employment, DIFC/ADGM, part-time or piece-rate work, or alternative savings schemes.

Use basic salary only, excluding housing, transport and other allowances.

Both dates are included. A year is 365 days and a month is 30 days under Article 67.

Enter whole unpaid days within these dates. Paid leave is not deducted.

Estimated gratuity

Your breakdown will appear here after calculation.

01

How the calculation works

Daily wage = last monthly basic salary ÷ 30. Eligible service = inclusive calendar days minus unpaid absence. Divide eligible days by 365. After at least one eligible year, apply 21 days of basic wage per year for the first five years and 30 days per year thereafter, including proportional part-years. The estimate is capped at 24 months of basic salary. Amounts are rounded only at the end of each displayed calculation.

02

What this estimate excludes

This is a planning estimate, not a final settlement or legal decision. Lawful deductions, unpaid salary, notice pay, unused leave, enhanced contractual rights and alternative schemes are not included. Ask payroll, MOHRE or a qualified adviser to confirm your case, especially where a different employment regime applies.

03

Does resigning change the formula?

The standard Article 51 calculation does not use the old resignation-reduction bands. Resignation alone does not change this formula. Entitlement remains subject to coverage, eligible service and the individual case.
