Follow the reporting procedure
When a card is lost or stolen, use ICP’s current reporting instructions promptly. Keep a note of the identity number if available. Requirements may differ from older online checklists, so confirm the current procedure before obtaining unrelated documents.
Check remaining validity
A replacement usually relates to the existing record rather than granting a fresh residence period. If the card is also due for renewal, ask which service makes sense. Compare the official fees and the consequences for validity before paying.
Prepare accurate application information
Use the current passport, residence details and any previous card copy. Check the delivery address and mobile number so approval does not lead to an avoidable delivery problem. Additional identity verification may be requested where records cannot be matched.
Use official status information
Retain the reference and receipt, then follow the application through approval, printing and delivery. Do not assume a generic timeline is guaranteed. For urgent transactions, ask whether the official digital record is accepted while the replacement is being processed.
